Ngahuia and I dragged ourselves up the hill, around St Andrews Golf course where the keen were warming up in their fashionable golf attire (peculiar game) and down on to the river. Fog hung over the Waikato and whaka ama paddlers negotiated their way down river towards the Wairere Bridge. We turned right and climbed the hill to Matakanohi reserve. We stopped at the top of the reserve to enjoy the view currently valued at between $500-$1000! Check out what the
artists are saying! A man had taken over the bench at the view

point to do his push ups We turned towards home. Feeling warm, Ngahuia broke into a trot and we thumped our way back down to the Golf Course. I found a tree stump to practice my rather naive TaiChi moves (Ha!) not that that lasted for long ...too shy! The dog brigade were out early with some enthusiastic and some sleepy looking owners. One lycra clad runner darted passed us so reminding me of our recent day out at the Xterra event. Seems a long time ago.
